The story

There has been a burglary in the Physics Department of the University of Bern in Switzerland.

Daniel von Arx, a young lawyer, stumbles on the scene and finds two encrypted discs leading him deep into the secret world of Galileo, Pestalozzi, and the indomitable Madame Curie — each on a united quest to save the planet. Daniel must turn his entire worldview on its head to understand his discoveries. But only with time does he grasp their significance and implications.

In the tradition of speculative fiction à la Isaac Asimov and William Gibson, Max Meyer challenges our beliefs about the role humans play in the future and raises questions of humankind’s existence in the world today: who controls the future? and what will tomorrow look like? In today’s world, only fiction can answer that!

Is Meyer’s story some sort of joke or should it be taken seriously?

Decide for yourself!

... throughout history, from ancient times until today, evidence has pointed to the truth. How could people not see the evidence and then, if they did, completely misinterpret it?

From the Prologue of The Other Side of Now

Is time travel possible? Do people from our future steer human progress? The Other Side of Now takes you on a captivating journey from the beginning of history though to the present day, allowing you to question what is real and what is not. Is the author having a bit of fun at the expense of long-held traditions? Or is he serious about what science can and cannot do?

You decide!

Where do we come from? Where are we going? These questions are addressed by Max Meyer, Chairman of the Board of Migros Aare, in his science fiction novel The Other Side of Now. And the answers are both stimulating and gratifyingly controversial.
